Val d'Orcia
The province of Siena is a charming place thanks to its unique landscapes and a mix of natural environment, cultural and folkloric features framing beautiful artistic monuments. Val d'Orcia is set in such a landscape characterized by smooth hills with olive groves and was listed by the UNESCO as a World Heritage Site in 2004 for its excellent union of nature and medieval villages and because it is a great example of how natural landscape was perfectly redesigned in the Renaissance. In order to protect, safeguard and promote this territory, the towns of Castiglione d'Orcia, Montalcino, Pienza, Radicofani, and San Quirico d'Orcia decided to create the Val d'Orcia Park where you can have the chance to experience a really unforgettable photography tour in Tuscany.
Val d'Arbia
One of the most beautiful and scenic landscapes in Tuscany is the one represented by Crete Senesi, a stretch of badlands consisting of sedimentary rocks and clay-rich soils which have been extensively eroded by water and have a thousand different shades of colors. Little villages, perched on hilltops, like Asciano, Montisi, Rapolano Terme, Serre di Rapolano, and San Giovanni d'Asso peep out in this "moonscape" of rare beauty, fascination and uniqueness. In this peaceful landscape of Val d'Arbia you may thus take amazing pictures and capture lovely landscapes and breathtaking views up to famous Montalcino, hometown of the excellent Brunello wine. This territory is enriched with towers, castles, and abbeys that can be reached through roads lined with cypress trees making this area even more surreal and enchanting. The imposing Monte Oliveto Maggiore Abbey is also gorgeous and worth visiting.
Foreste Casentinesi National Park
Along river Arno from its springs on Mount Falterona to the valley of Casentino, the Foreste Casentinesi National Park gives unique emotions and an unforgettable experience to all photography lovers. Our photographic tour near Florence will make you discover one of the oldest forests in Europe, rich in woods that have witnessed the continuous evolution of nature and are full of history. This immense heritage has been protected by the monks of Camaldoli since the 11th century. Come and see behind your camera lenses the fascinating colors of nature, the thousand shades of green blowing up during the autumn and creating amber and reddish color splashes.
This Park hides a precious treasure within the very heart of its territory: the Nature Reserve of Sasso Fratino, an area of luxuriant forest almost entirely unspoilt without any human intervention, characterized by steep slopes and rocky soils, and awarded every five years the European Diploma of Protected Areas.
Blossoming Time in Castelluccio di Norcia
Castelluccio di Norcia is a municipality located in the Sybilline Mounts National Park at 1,452 amsl and a few kilometers from Norcia (Perugia). This village is set in the renowned valley named Valnerina, within an upland in front of Mount Vettore. This territory having a surface of about 15 sq. km becomes incredibly beautiful and fascinating between end of May and early July thanks to the so-called "Blossoming Time" of Castelluccio di Norcia: when flowers are blossoming on the upland all the colors blow up with their shades ranging from ocher yellow to red, from violet to white, creating a really unique scene to be captured during a really unique photography tour in Umbria.
The Valdarno "Balze"
The Valdarno "Balze" are the consequence of a radical mutation of the territory due to some fractures in the earth crust near Incisa Valdarno, which caused a significant drop in the soil level and river Arno, and due to water erosion of sedimentary clay soils. In the 1500s Leonardo da Vinci saw this wavy landscape and was so fascinated by it that he painted this territory in some of his works of art, among which probably the renowned Mona Lisa too. Since 1988 the "Balze" are listed among the Protected Areas of Tuscany.
